Centennial occupies the northeastern corner of Scarborough near the Rouge Valley, and much of its housing dates from the seventies onward — subdivision development on regular lots, more uniform in age and condition than the older Scarborough neighbourhoods to the west. It is quiet and family-oriented, with Rouge National Urban Park to the east and the lake to the south. Highway 401 access is straightforward. The area is well removed from the city centre, and buyers here are generally making a deliberate trade of commute time for newer housing and space.
