Port Union sits at the eastern edge of the city where Scarborough meets Pickering, and it takes its name from the old lakeside settlement. The Port Union Waterfront Park runs along the shore with a trail connecting west toward the Rouge, and it is one of the better stretches of accessible lakefront in the east end. Housing is a mix of postwar homes and newer subdivision development from the eighties and nineties, generally well maintained on regular lots. Rouge Hill GO provides a direct commuter connection downtown.
