Neighbourhood guide  /  Scarborough

Woburn

A large, diverse neighbourhood in southeast Scarborough near the hospital and college.

Woburn is one of the largest neighbourhoods in Scarborough, running through the southeast of the borough near Scarborough General Hospital and Centennial College. It is highly diverse, with substantial South Asian, Caribbean and Filipino communities, and the housing reflects a long development history — postwar detached homes, seventies subdivision housing, extensive townhouse complexes and apartment towers along the arterials. It offers considerable space for the price, and the hospital and college are major local employers. Highway 401 runs through the northern part of the area.
