Yonge and St Clair is a small but dense commercial node — office buildings, a cluster of towers and a run of shops and restaurants, with the ravine system a few minutes east and Deer Park immediately around it. It has among the best transit in the city for a neighbourhood of its scale: the Yonge subway, the St Clair streetcar in its own right-of-way, and quick access to the Don Valley for drivers. Residential stock at the intersection is largely apartment and condominium, with houses beginning within a block or two. The area has seen steady office and retail investment, which has improved the street considerably.
