Agincourt was a village on the Scarborough farmland before it was suburban, and it developed through the fifties and sixties into one of the borough’s established communities. It has a large and long-settled Chinese population, and the commercial strips along Sheppard and Kennedy — including the shopping centres at Agincourt Mall and Dragon Centre’s successors — reflect that. Housing is postwar detached and semi-detached homes on regular lots, with apartment stock along the arterials. Agincourt GO gives a direct rail connection downtown, which distinguishes it from much of Scarborough.
