Alderwood sits north of Long Branch between Etobicoke Creek and Brown’s Line, a self-contained postwar neighbourhood of bungalows and small two-storey houses on regular lots with driveways. It has very little through traffic, a good deal of mature tree cover, and a community centre and library at its heart. It has historically been one of the more affordable detached-house neighbourhoods in the city, drawing families who want a yard and parking. Access to the QEW and the Gardiner makes it practical for drivers; transit is bus-based.
