Corktown sits between the Distillery and the Don River, and it is one of the oldest working-class neighbourhoods in the city — small brick cottages and Victorian rowhouses on short streets, with a genuine village feel that survives despite the construction around it. The area has been transformed by development on its edges: the West Don Lands to the south, the Canary District, and the ongoing work along the river.
