St Clair West between Dufferin and Lansdowne, with a strong Italian and Latin American presence.
Corso Italia runs along St Clair Avenue West, and it remains one of the most distinctly Italian commercial strips in the city, now alongside a substantial Latin American community. The residential streets hold well-kept semis and detached houses, many owned long-term, with the finished basements, tiled porches and vegetable gardens that mark a neighbourhood of settled ownership. The St Clair streetcar right-of-way runs the length of it, giving reliable transit that is not subject to traffic. Prices have historically sat below the neighbourhoods south of Davenport, though that gap has been closing.
Semi-detached and detached houses, generally well maintained; apartments above the St Clair retail.
Families, first-time house buyers, and long-established households.
The 512 St Clair streetcar on its own right-of-way; St Clair West station to the east.
Long-held houses often have older systems behind recent cosmetic work. Look past the finishes.
