Harbourfront runs along the lake south of the rail corridor, and it is defined by the water and by the barrier of the Gardiner. The building stock is almost entirely condominium, ranging from the first wave of waterfront towers in the eighties to recent construction. What you are buying, in large part, is the view and the walk — the boardwalk, the island ferry and the trail system are all at the door. What you should test is the connection north: crossing to the rest of downtown is a short walk but not always a pleasant one, and it shapes how people actually use the neighbourhood day to day.
