Playter Estates is a compact enclave north of the Danforth around Broadview station, laid out on former farmland and built out in the early twentieth century. The houses are noticeably larger than the surrounding neighbourhoods — wide Edwardian detached and semi-detached homes with deep lots and mature trees, on quiet streets that carry almost no through traffic. It is small enough that few houses list in any given year, and it is well known to buyers who want the Danforth and the subway without living on a busy street. Values here hold firmly for that reason.
