Woodbine Heights sits in the former borough of East York, north of the Danforth and west of Woodbine, and it is a genuinely quiet residential neighbourhood with very little commercial activity within it. The housing is largely postwar — bungalows, one-and-a-half storey houses and modest two-storey homes on lots that are wider than the Victorian stock closer to downtown, with driveways and garages that the older neighbourhoods cannot offer. That combination of space, parking and price has made it a common destination for families leaving the core, and the rebuilding and second-storey addition cycle is well underway.
